Information we gather
- Connection details: the IP address your visit comes from, an approximate geolocation (city level at best) derived from that address, the browser’s user-agent string, device type and the pages opened.
- Contact-form content: whatever you type, which only reaches us if you choose to send the draft email.
- Your cookie switches: a small record kept by your browser for this domain.
What the Fountainhouse desk does with it
Keeping the Fountainhouse pages reachable and shielded from misuse; analytics, if you have agreed, so we learn which stops of the walk are opened; marketing and affiliate attribution, if you have agreed, so a referral partner can link a reservation with the click that started it here; and answering your mail.
Who else handles it
The firms that host the site and count its visits handle connection details on our behalf. With advertising cookies switched on, referral partners and affiliate networks receive click identifiers so that a booking can be traced back to a link here. A site you move on to applies its own privacy terms. The Fountainhouse desk never trades your letters for money.
How long things stay
Server logs roll over and vanish within roughly three months. Aggregate analytics are kept for up to about two years. Email threads stay only while a conversation needs them. Your cookie switches last twelve months, after which the bar asks afresh.
GDPR rights
Should you be writing from the European Economic Area or Britain, the GDPR entitles you to see the Fountainhouse records about you, to have them amended or wiped, narrow or move it, oppose processing grounded in legitimate interests, and take back any consent at a moment of your choosing. Your national supervisory authority will also hear complaints.
CCPA/CPRA rights
California residents have CCPA/CPRA rights: to be told which personal details the Fountainhouse desk keeps, by category and item, to have them fixed or removed, to limit any sensitive-data use, and to refuse any selling of it, or its sharing for cross-context behavioral ads. The Fountainhouse desk counts an incoming Global Privacy Control flag as that opt-out, and no reader is penalized for invoking these rights.
Children
Saratoga visitors under 18 are not who these pages are for, and we do not knowingly gather their data. If a minor has written in, alert the Fountainhouse desk and the note will be deleted.

Any shift in how we treat data is mirrored in a rewrite of this notice, with the revision month above moved on.
